Soirée Cedille Celebrates Vocal Music

Soirée Cedille, Cedille’s annual benefit held on September 17, was a smashing success! The event brought in over $275,000 in support of Cedille’s efforts to record and promote Chicago’s finest classical music performers and composers. Cedille thanks all those who supported the event!

The evening’s concert featured a video performance by tenor Ian Koziara and live, in-person performances by soprano Nicole Cabell: a solo set accompanied by pianist Susan Tang preceded by
excerpts from L’Amant Anonyme with tenor Geoffrey Agpalo and fortepianist David Schrader. The performers highlighted Cedille’s commitment to recording vocal music, an effort codified by last year’s launch of the Ruth Bader Ginsburg Fund for Vocal Recordings.

Cedille was delighted to recognize Gregory O’Leary with our Martin D. Ginsburg Award, honoring his dedication to and enthusiasm for Cedille’s mission. And in honor of the spirit of collaboration that is a defining characteristic of Chicago’s classical music community, we were thrilled to present our Musical Partnership Award to the Luminarts Cultural Foundation, represented by its Board President, Sally Metzler, PhD.

For those of who were unable to join us (or want to relive the experience), a video of the entire concert program can be viewed by clicking the button below.

Soirée Cedille 2024 will take place on Sunday, September 8. Please save the date — we hope to see you there!
