William Buchman joined the Chicago Symphony Orchestra in 1992 after two seasons with the Dallas Symphony. He was appointed assistant principal bassoon in 1996.
William Buchman is assistant principal bassoon of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. He has also performed with the Chicago Chamber Musicians and Chicago Pro Musica. He was a soloist (with Alex Klein) at the 1998 Mostly Mozart Festival at Lincoln Center and has performed at the Eastern Shore Chamber Music Festival in Maryland, the Grand Teton Music Festival in Wyoming, and the St. Barth Music Festival in the French West Indies. He serves on the music faculties at DePaul and Roosevelt universities.
