On this episode of Classical Chicago, Cedille President Jim Ginsburg talks with Chicago a cappella Artistic Director John William Trotter about his experience recording Cedille’s latest release, Miracle of Miracles — Music for Hanukkah. The album features a collection of songs from more than 25 years of Chicago a cappella performances, arranged into a single program that replays the story of Hanukkah, from celebrations of the holiday itself through to its candles, miracles, religious observances, and traditional food and games.

In honor of this month’s (Nov. 14) release of the Pacifica Quartet’s The Korngold Collection, an update of our 2019 playlist of music by composers who were displaced or killed in WW2 and the Holocaust, to which we’ll add tracks from the new album when it becomes available on streaming.
