Join us for Cedille Records’ Emerging Artist Competition Finals on Sunday, May 18 at 1pm, and witness the next generation of classical music stars! This thrilling event showcases outstanding young musicians competing for the opportunity to make their debut professional audio recording — a crucial step in furthering a career.
Up to four finalists will compete in the finals. The winner will make their debut recording on Cedille Records — a prize valued at $70,000 — and be featured in a live broadcast performance on Live from WFMT.

Finals will include up to four contestants playing 30 minutes of music total, including at least two contrasting works. Contestants choose everything they perform in this round.
The afternoon will feature opening remarks by Cedille President and Founder, Jim Ginsburg. As well as a short performance of Mel Bonis: Flute Sonata, Op.64 – Movement IVby 2021 Emerging Artist Competition winner Julian Velasco accompanied by Nathan Canfield.
